Inflation:
Rate at which the prices are rising i.e. is inflation is X% means prices are X% higher than previous benchmark
Disinflation
Decelerating inflation i.e. prices are rising but at a lower rate. (e.g. X% rise in Month A, (X-2)% rise in Month B is still price rise but at a lower rate)
Deflation
- Opposite of inflation, rate at which prices are reducing
- Deflation is X% means prices are X% lower than previous benchmark
Reflation
- Follows deflation as policymakers make efforts to pump up economy
Greedflation
- Greed fueling inflation
- Corporates rise prices as a matter of 'greed' to have profits way above their input costs
