Tips to prepare with job
- Use Travel time
- Use your socializing time to study
- Use of soft copy to study while on job
- Use holidays and weekends judiciously
- Most important thing: enthusiasm and consistency
- It is okay not to have an extreme career shift and not to have complete clarity
How to prepare Sociology optional?
'Essential Sociology', book by Nitin Sangwan is enough
If you still want to go forward and take an extra leap:
- Newspaper
- New NCERTs
- Dictionaries for sociology
Tips for Current Affairs for Prelims
- Any 1 newspaper + Any coaching monthly magazine
- Make systematic notes out of newspaper
How to do read newspaper?
- Avoid Summaries
- Read at least one newspaper daily
- Make notes from daily newspaper
Mains Answer Writing
- Avoid answer writing in first 4-5 months of prep
- Write once you have basics clear and some material ready
- Think of your answers as food: bring variety & flavors to it
- Make it a habit to try and write a paper once every 15 days after prelims
- Focus on bringing diversity to your answers with bullets, diagrams etc.
- Don't lose your sleep on writing if you are one who wrote long answers in graduation
How to prepare for Essay?
- DON'T avoid it!
- Make list of quotes on diff topics
- Read some non-fiction books during prep (can pick any bestseller)
- An abstract article a week or 10 days to learn tackling philosophical essays
What NOT to do in interview?
- Don't be too opinionated
- Avoid taking sides with any ideology
- Prep for Interview starts on day 1 of your prep!
- Think of yourself already as a bureaucrat (helps in mindset)
On plan B
Don’t be too worried of it! If you are a serious aspirant, your Plan B will eventually find you.
Mental Health
- MAUJ LO!
- Don't compromise on your mental well being
- Don't take yourself too seriously; even if you are on top seat, you would be forgotten in few years.
