How did Indian Government do it? INDIA STACK.
What is India Stack?
An API allowing businesses, developers and govt to utilize unique digital Infra for solving hard Indian problems.
iSPIRT's Open API team contributed pro bono in development, evolution and evangelization of the APIs
But what's API?🤔
Application Programming Interface
eg: You can login to twitter via Gmail. In this case, Twitter uses Google's API for smooth user onboarding.
What's the goal of India Stack?
To ensure service delivery largely on 4 principles
➡Presence-less Layer
A universal biometric ID for people to participate in any service from anywhere in India owned by UIDAI
➡Paperless Layer
All digital record of an individual in one place eliminating need of 'paper' work owned by MeitY
➡Cashless Layer
An effort to democratize payments with single interface to all bank accounts/wallets owned by NPCI
➡Consent Layer
A privacy data sharing framework owned by RBI
What's the utility of India Stack for:
a) Government: Makes the service delivery more accountable & transparent🏛️
b) Citizenry: Integrates 1.4bn Indians in formal economy👨🏻
c) Software: Fosters innovation for improvised products in fintech, health and education.👨💻
