#343: Notification - UPSC 2026
Clearing doubts
They are temporarily blocking, but here is the notification
Rumors were true for re appearing candidates. TL;DR — CSE service allocation & re-attempt rules!
1) If selected in CSE-2026
Must join Foundation Course/training.
If you don’t join training or don’t take exemption → service allocation is cancelled.
2) Appearing in CSE-2027 after getting a 2026 service
Allowed only once and only if you take exemption from joining training.
If selected again in 2027:
You can choose 2026 or 2027 service.
Must join training of the chosen service, otherwise both allocations cancelled.
Seniority counted from the service you finally join.
No suppression of name in seniority list.
3) Future attempts
To appear in CSE-2028 or later, you must resign from the allocated service.
If you take exemption to attempt again but don’t join any service later → allocation cancelled automatically
4) Restrictions based on earlier services
Already in IAS or IFS from earlier exam → cannot appear in CSE-2026.
Already in IPS from earlier exam → cannot opt for IPS again via CSE-2026.
Candidates allocated IPS or Central Group ‘A’ via CSE-2026:
May appear in CSE-2027 once, only with training exemption.
Core idea:
You get one controlled re-attempt after selection, but training joining, resignation rules, and seniority consequences strictly apply.
