1. Kuyili
• Commander-in-Chief of Rani Velu Nachiyar
• Known as ‘Veerthalapathy’ (The Brave Commander) or ‘Veeramangai’ (The Brave Woman)
• Fearlessly led the army against the British and sacrificed her life.
2. Jhalkaribai
• One of the most trusted aides of Rani Laxmibai
• Born on November 22, 1830, in a Kori family
• Played a pivotal role in the Revolt of 1857
3. Helen Lepcha/Sabitri Devi
• Born in 1902 in a village called Sangmoo, Sikkim
• Played an important part in the Swadeshi and Non-Cooperation Movements
• Took part in the relief works after the Bihar Floods of 1920
• Rechristened Sabitri Devi by Mahatma Gandhi
4. Tara Rani Shrivastava
• Part of the Quit India Movement
• Marched to raise tricolour in front of Siwan police station along with her husband
• Continued to be a part of the freedom struggle until the Indian independence
5. Pritilata Waddedar
• Born on May 5, 1911, in Chittagong
• Remembered for her role in the attack on the Pahartali European Club in 1932
• Also a member of the revolutionary group, Deepali Sangha, established by Leela Nag
6. Kanaklata Barua
• Born on December 22, 1924, in Assam
• Joined the Mrityu Bahini during the Quit India Movement
• Martyred while trying to hoist the tricolour at the Gohpur police station
